February Faves

February, the month of love was lovely. It was short and that’s always nice. However, we are heading into one of my least favorite months and now I’m wishing February had slowed down a bit. But before I say goodbye to it, let me reminisce over some of my faves this month.

1. KissKiss lipstick by Guerlain. I got this lipstick from a friend for Christmas and at first I looked at it as any other lipstick. It’s not. It has made it onto my list of beloved beauty products. The colors are beautiful .Rose Entetant was the one I was lucky enough to receive, and it’s a very pretty color that works for day or night. The lipstick always goes on smooth and it is moisturizing. I wish it wasn’t so expensive ($31) because I would gladly buy every shade available.

2. Woodwick Candles. Last month, I received a candle from another friend of mine (my friends spoil me) and without question I’m in love with it. It’s not just a candle folks; it is a passage into romance town. The vanilla bean scent is intoxicating. If it were a dessert I’d be fat. But the coolest thing about it is that it crackles like a fireplace when lit. I love fire places and the sound just adds to the entire mood. I will be getting more of these indefinitely.

Clean Logic, Soap Sponge, Lavender (Pack of 12)3. Clean logics soap+sponge. In case you missed it, you can check out my review of this item here. But for a quick summary, soap+sponge is a sponge with a sponge inside. It comes in a variety of scents and it’s a fun product. But more importantly, it cleans well and leaves the skin feeling soft as it gently exfoliates.

Figs and leaves soap. Another soap that I really liked this month was Lush’s figs and leaves soap. I need to do a full review on it, but it is a great cleaning soap that helps to reduce blemishes. At least that’s what I noticed when using it. It lathers well and has a load of beneficial ingredients like aloe vera extract and coconut oil.  It’s not my favorite scent, but it’s in no way bad smelling. I like because it works. Interview with David Aviv of Mango Tree Fitted Bangles

Sometime in December, I was introduced to a bangle line Mango Tree Fitted Bangles seen in the Enjoy Weekends set. Being an accessory enthusiast, I had to check them out further. Mango Tree Fitted Bangles is a line of ECO bangles with 50 colors in three different styles: bold, slim and samba. This is an affordable line with prices ranging from 18-22 dollars. It’s not often you see ECO wear in such an affordable price range. Another reason why I like this bangle line, as opposed to other ECO lines, is the way the bangles are made. If you’re like me, you have the issue of lose, slipping, baggy bangles. The ones that do fit are plastic and childish. They aren’t something you can compliment a serious outfit with. So when I learned that Mango Tree Fitted Bangles makes bangles that fit small wrists, I was elated. I had the pleasure of interviewing the owners of the company to learn more about them and the bangle line.

Tell me a bit about yourself: name, location, affiliations.

My name is David Aviv and my lifelong partner is Helen Dukat, we currently reside in Tel Aviv, Israel. We are the designers of Mango Tree Bangles and together we create and design unique styles and colors which make our collection different from others in the market.

What made you sway towards accessories?
Through our travels around the world, I was always fascinated with the beautiful natural resources that were readily available.  The idea and the necessity came up to design and manufacture beautiful jewelry at a great price for all to enjoy. In Thailand is where we discovered the beauty of the Mango Tree, and the ability to create a beautiful product using this natural resource.

What are the defining features of your work?

As I am sure you can see by our products, each bangle created is handmade and hand painted creating a one of a kind piece of art.

Where do you get your inspirations?

Our inspirations are definitely derived from our world travels.

Is there anything you’d like to try your hands at doing?

In the future we hope to branch out and start designing bags, shoes, furniture etc. using natural resources.

How have your products changed since you started creating?

We are always testing out ways to create different and unique colors that the world has not yet seen.

What can you be found doing on a Saturday afternoon
Enjoying the beautiful waves of Tel Aviv beach with our amazing daughter Liya.

How did you come up with the idea to use organic timber for bangles
We are very conscience of the earth and how we are losing natural resources at a very rapid pace, we wanted to create a product that would not hurt but essentially help this world. Therefore, we only use the Mango Tree's when they do not yield fruit.

What are your future plans with Mango Tree Fitted Bangles?
Our plans with Mango Tree Fitted Bangles is to have a worldwide impact, where " Mango Tree Fitted Bangles" is synonymous with bangles/bracelets. Anytime a female is thinking about purchasing or wearing a bangle, they will immediately think Mango Tree.

Cleanlogic Soap + Sponge Review

My sister got me the soap and sponge by cleanlogic. She bought it online from urbanoutfitters.com. Cleanlogic designed this soap for people with disabilities, and perhaps this extra thought into the product is what helps to make it so special and effective.
Below is a video review of the product going through some of the pros and cons.

Enjoy Weekends: Our love should be a 3D movie

Don't ask me how I came up with the title for this set. In fact, I'm not sure how I come up with the names for majority of them. Perhaps I was thinking about how I haven't seen a movie in a while. Or maybe how I love  hearts. Or perhaps I'm still on a "what I heart" kick. I'm not entirely sure, but here we have a set that features many hearts. This weekend I'm putting my heart into dreaming. I'm going to follow sleeping beauty's lead and take a long nap and when I awake a handsome prince will be looking at me sweetly, ready to offer me a gigantic castle filled with lovely heart shaped accessories.

I hope your weekend is as adventurous as a 3D movie. And if you do end up seeing one, please do share.

Ulzzang Eye Glasses

I don't need eye glasses, but I love them, and ulzzangs whether they need them or not make great use of eye glasses. They're a fun, never-out-of style, works with everything accessory. This ulzzang day features some glasses that although I don't need, I certainly want.

New OG Vintage Buddy NERD Wayfarer Blues Brothers Clear Sunglasses - Black

These nerd glasses are classic. They're also affordable, running at under $4.00 at amazon. Classes like these can top off any ulzzang outfit in a classic chic way.

Run DMC Rapper Retro Large Clear Lens Eye Glasses Black

For those that want to tie together their 80's look these Run DMC retro glasses fit the bill. I saw a pair of these at a local shop in my area and was reluctant to buy them. But I think I can spurge on amazon for these 7 dollar retro glasses.

Selima Optique Nora cat-eye frame optical glasses

Though these are a pricey pair of eye glasses ($300) they look so good on. They cat eye is not overwhelming and sometimes I even forget that's what they are. They can make you look either like a sophisticated librarian or a cute hipster.

Betsey Johnson BJ 048 02 Reading Eyeglasses Pearl Princess 02 Espresso

These glasses are very cute with the heart shaped cutout on the frame. I don't think I could pull them off, but I'm sure there are plenty of ulzaangs out there that could.

Cole Haan Women's Travel Packable City Belted Trench Coat

This trench coat looks warm. It's actually a made for rainy weather, but I think it could handle the snow. I like that it's packable, and the pouch it comes in can actually be used as a cosmetic bag. It's nice when companies think to make things practical for you in more ways than one. It comes in bronze and black but I much prefer the black. It's more sophisticated and easier to accessorize.
