Cape sleeve trench coats always look fun to me. And this easy to accessorize--looking cute all season long--I know you're smiling as you stare at me, is one of my favorites. Perhaps because of the grey color, it's a very easy coat to dress up, but it looks super cute with flats.
I apologize for the lack of post these past few days. I was in the hospital, and generally have been sick for a while. But fashion was still on my mind and luckily I had some pictures stashed away for days like today when I need to do a quick "I'm sick here's a fun pic" post.
O.K. so these pics aren't really all that fun but it does show me sporting a trench coat so it fits with the blog :P
I believe I was on my way to the thrift store that day.
This simple classic style and color trench makes a pretty nice gift for trench coat lovers, or coat lovers, or people who you care enough about to keep dry. It's water resistant and quite nicely fitted. I notice that the trenches being made today aren't always water resistant so it's nice to come across one with that feature.
I picked up this moisturizer on a whim while in the drug store and have been using it regularly for the past couple weeks. Here is my review of the derma e tea tree & E antiseptic creme
If you don't feel like reading, scroll to the bottom to watch my video review of this product.
Pros
High quality ingredients: I opened up this product while I was in the store and a strong tea tree scent came at me. It is very powerful. Though the scent doesn’t bother me it might bother those that don’t like strong smelling products. I liked it because it let me know, right away, that it had a natural ingredient in it. This product is natural and organic. It has vitamin E, A, and D which are all great for the skin and has few chemical products.
Efficient: I used it as soon as I got home (after washing my face) and within a couple hours I could see a dramatic improvement in my skin. I had bought it get rid of a few pimples and spots and it didn’t take long before the spots were less visible and the pimples were practically gone. I didn’t have to wait a few days; this crème works fast.
Skin softening: In addition to clearing up any blemishes I had, the derma e tea tree & vitamin E antiseptic crème also made my skin very soft. My skin has a glow about it when I put it on and it lasts for the entire day. My pores were smaller; my skin was smoother and any skin irritations got cleared up.
My sister who suffers from eczema has been using this product and says it helps to tame her flare ups. She says her skin is less itchy and the rashes are gone. I can see a difference on her skin where she been using this crème. Also, because of the avocado, this product is very moisturizing. I’ve replaced it with my other moisturizer because I don’t have keep reapplying it. I put it on in the morning and it keeps my skin nourished all day long.
Multipurpose: This product is actually an antiseptic crème, so unlike other moisturizers that may make the skin soft but have no other benefit this is designed to treat skin problems. It’s good for sunburns, rashes of all types, dermatitis and other skin concerns. It does a great job of treating many skin problems and is recommended by dermatologists to people who don’t want a medicated treatment for their skin issue.
Affordable: Unlike the other crèmes on the self that were selling at 15 dollars or higher, the derma e is about 12 dollars. This is a good cost when compared to others in its field and when you consider everything it does. Instead of a 20something dollar crème my sister can buy this one and get the same remedy without the harsh side effects. It is also one product that goes on sale often.
Highly recommended: Before buying the derma e tea tree and vitamin E antiseptic crème, I had never heard of the company. But I was curious to see what other products they had and what other people were saying about it. On nearly every site I went it had a five star rating. Not many products hold up to consumer strong opinions but this one gets a lot of praise and a lot of recommendations.
Cons
I hardly ever give five star ratings. No matter how good a product is there is a flaw somewhere. However, I cannot find one thus far with this product. I have been using it for more than two weeks and it’s still working great. I suppose if the tea tree smell is too strong for you then this won’t be a favorite of yours but I don’t mind it and therefore this product gets a 5/5 in my books.
This set makes me want to bike ride down a sunny path. They'll be no sun in the forecast this weekend, but it might be nice to dress cute and imagine myself riding past flower gardens. I personally can't remember the last time I took a leisurely bike ride but I think I'll make it a new hobby.
Ooo I spot a pretty trench coat. Had I done this post a week earlier there would have been a link for you to purchase it, but I've been sick and alas it is sold out. Sorry to all those who are eyeing this coat thinking "where can I buy it!" For those who are thinking "you wouldn't catch me in a spotty dalmatian coat" I had those same thoughts-- until I saw the asymmetric zipper and noticed that the spots weren't overwhelming. That's when I joined the "where to purchase crowd." This coat has so much charm and is a nice twist to the traditional trench coat.
The space girl bath bomb from lush is a whole lot of cosmic fun. I used it the other day and here is my review of it.
Pros:
Smells great: The space girl bath bomb smells like black currants and grapefruit. It also has a slight perfume scent to it. Its scent really comes out in the water and can last on your skin for a while but it isn’t an overpowering or overwhelming scent.
Good cocktail option: Because the scent is not too strong it’s a good bath bomb to cocktail with other bath bombs like the sakura, avobath or happy blossoming bath melt.
Not too messy: Unlike some of lushes other bath bombs, this one didn’t leave a big mess in my tub. It has some sparkles on the outside of it but most of these go down the drain after the bath and there aren’t enough to leave a galaxy sized mess in the tub.
Cons
No great skin benefit. This bath bomb was mediocre in terms of softening my skin. I had thought that the oils in it would help to silken my skin but it didn’t really do much on that end. It just made the water oily.
Doesn’t fizz long: This is a fast fizzing bath bomb, and it isn’t spectacular to look at while it is fizzing. I thought it would take a long time, but it disappeared faster than a rocket through space.
I’ll assume lush created this bath bomb for fun purposes, because that’s what it is. It has a nice smell and would be fun to cocktail with others. I give it a four out of five.

This weekend, to conclude the yellow festival, I decided to do two different sets for the enjoy weekends section. The first one is a dressier outfit that one might wear out on the town. The second one is for those who plan to take it easy this weekend. The reason behind having two sets as opposed the usual one is my love of yellow items. One set just didn't seem enough. I wanted to show that yellow could be sophisticated as well as laid back. Which set do you like more?
We're nearing the end of the yellow brick road..ha ha...I really wanted to say that. Yes yes it was silly and cliche but the fun yellow items post are almost at an end. I figure if I was walking down a yellow brick road, instead of a wizard, aka weird old man, I'd find a lovely yellow rainbow with big pot of golden accessories like the ones below.
This bow adds pizazz to just about any outfit. I love the color and style of it. Add it to a frou frou dress or skirt and you'll really be the life of the party.
Great pair of earrings, if I do say so myself...I'm talking as if I made them...yeah right. I'd be so lucky to have that much talent. I'd also be so lucky to own these.
This necklace looks so pretty with a black top or dress. I mean yes it goes with every color, but it really comes alive against a black surface. Besides the happy color, I enjoy the happy faces on this necklace.
These are another pair of shoes for the eccentric soul. I love how unique they are. I do kind of wish that the ruffle was only on the toe instead of the ankle too. Still, I love the color and unique style.
I'm not generally a flip flop person. They're one style that I tend to pass by but these ones made me stop and look. Maybe it's the cheery color or the pretty rose, but I really like these sandals.
"Why are you so beautiful!" was what I said when I saw these shoes. Then I looked at the price and thought "why are you so expensive!!!" I want these shoes, though I might have to sell my soul for them. I can't stop looking at the fantastic heel on them. They are dramatic without seeming pretentious. They remind me of the quiet girl with a daring side.
