I decided to try a what I'm wearing video and it ended up turning into a review for Secret Periwinkle nail polish by China Glaze. The video doesn't show shoes that I would would wear with this outfit so I decided to included in this post.
I think something like these would look cute with the look I have in the video.

Summer Fashion Pictures

I have this bad habit of taking pictures and not posting them up a month or two later. Such is the story of many of the pictures in this post. I went around snapping shots of summer fashion only to present them to you when we're near fall. However, I still have a few more summer days (though it doesn't feel like it), since technically summer doesn't end until September 21.
Most of the pictures below are of my sister's fashion days combined with street wear of others and some shop pics.

Denim Fashion Video

All this talk of denim made me take a good hard look at my own wardrobe to see what items I already had and how I could style them. Most of the items in the video are vintage or retro, but I've started to grow a new love for my denim items.

Sister's Summer Dress

Summer dresses make me smile, and this one my sister has on is splendid. I believe she got it from a thrift store. I love the detailing at the top, and of course being a pockets fan, I love the fact that it has convenient pockets to stick all other summer goodies in, like SPF lip gloss.

Thrift Store Styles

One thing worth loving is a thrift store. I'm lucky that there are a lot in my area and that they often have bag sales to afford me the opportunity to stock up on retro, vintage and sometimes just plain wacky items. But even the wacky ones find away to make an outfit "special." I got the jacket from a bag sale (I think it's even in a haul video) was stumped at first as to how to wear it but skinny jeans makes most things presentable.
I love the color of the jacket and the very retro style of it. It's the kind of material that's warm on cool nights, breathable in warm weather.

    The love of thrift stores is definitely a family thing. My sister made this outfit from a skirt she got from a second hand store. I love how she creativly made it into a dress. She looks like a country cutie.

My mom also joined the vintage fun.

I do shop in regular stores too.

Spring Fashion Showers

The weather has been on and off, so snap shots of random people have not been encouraging.  Luckily my sister had a fun collection of spring clothes that were camera pleasing. This time, I decided to join her. I don't usually take pictures of my own wardrobe. I simply get dressed, not worrying too much if my clothes are cover page material. Most people are like me, in that they may like their outfits but aren't concerned if they're picture perfect. But what if we all were. Imagine if everyone got dressed with the hope that someone would stop them and say "You look great, can I take a picture."

These boots were made for walking

I managed to catch my sister before she headed out last week, and snapped a few pics of her outfit. I love this look. The high boots, which remind me of riding boots are the combination of comfort and class. I also love the vintage over sized plaid cardigan she's wearing. Both are from the thrift store. The blue cardigan on the inside is from American Apparel, but she found it at winners. She's also wearing Absolutely Alice nail polish from O.P.I which really brings out the blue in the jacket. And the headband, from Arden adds a feminine girly touch to the outfit.
