If there's one thing I learned about denim this week it's that it looks good in meager amounts. Denim is best complimented with other textures, colors and materials. Full on denim on denim isn't the most flattering thing. But a denim jacket on a cute skirt looks great. That was the look I wanted when I created this set. Something girly but hip.

Gosh I love this bag! I can see it working with so many things in my wardrobe.

I have a cupcake obsession. Needless to say this bag is cutie in my books. 

Botkier - Trigger Moto Clutch (Washed Denim) 

Minus the tassels, I really like this clutch. I could see it with a cute white skirt and cowgirl boots. Actually the tassels are starting to grow on me. 

 

LA POMME DENIM BLUE 

If I saw someone carry this bag I would have to stop them and ask where they got it. It's a very simple bag that has a lot of personality.

 I think my heart went into excitement overload when I saw this bag then it dropped to the floor and was walked all over when I saw the over 1,000 dollar price :( I can't help loving it though. It definitely does justice to denim. 

Kinies Ruffled Waist Purse - DENIM DARK BLUE

I need this bag to carry my lip gloss, water, and snacks for days when I'm too lazy to get off the couch. I can just sit there with this cute rufflley bag on my waist all day. I love when pretty meets practical.

Denim Accessories

 When I originally thought of denim I thought of jeans. Thus I had speculated that most of my blog posts would feature jean items. Not considering that denim also defines a color which can be found in many accessories. After figuring this out, I couldn't help but to go on a denim accessory hunt.

Here's some denim I can live with. A denim ring is a nice way to go with this trend without having to overdo it.

Pearl and Denim Lapis Earrings

Maybe it's the color of the stone, but I like these earrings. They have retro feel to them but they also look like they could work in a lot of modern outfits.

Sterling Silver Genuine Denim Lapis Chip Earrings

Here's another pair of earrings that have the 80's feel to them. I like stone earrings and seeing it in denim makes them extra charming.

Denim Bow Necklace

 This is such a sweet looking necklace. I love the way the dark wooden beads compliments the denim bow. I could see this working with a lot of casual summer and even fall outfits. 

Denim Zip Stud Bow Headband

How 80's! I'm really liking this headband despite the fact that it is obviously trendy and won't carry you through multiple seasons. It's edgy, stylish and cute.

Denim and snakeskin? I love it! A scarf is always a nice accessory for any season and this one is so bizarrely awesome.

Denim Fashion Video

All this talk of denim made me take a good hard look at my own wardrobe to see what items I already had and how I could style them. Most of the items in the video are vintage or retro, but I've started to grow a new love for my denim items.

Magazine Denim Darlings

You can blame the pics down below for this denim week. When summer hit I grabbed a couple magazines and a lot of them had at least one spread of denim styles choices. This peaked my interest in the trend as I saw more and more pictures of girls not looking damn awful. In fact, many looked damn good.
Lou Lou and ViVi are the two magazines that really got me inspired.

FYI Vivi is a Japanese magazine (you will probably see a feature of it in the future)

Denim Dayz

It's interesting how somethings never seem to really go out of fashion. They may sit stale (in the back of your closet) behind all the other attention seeking styles, but they don't truly disappear. The denim trend is good example of this. Remember the 90's when everyone was wearing terrible tacky denim on denim suites with matching heart shaped denim earrings? Well, you can unabashedly take out those earrings (everyone knows you hung onto them) because the trend is back in full session.

Denim is not really a material or color I ever got excitd about, but that may be because I was too young in the 90's to appreciate all the divine tackiness. I'm a little older now and maybe by dedicating a week to this trend I may just decide to hop on the bandwagon.
