Beauty Dayz: Kawaii Beauty Collection

Some beauty items are so cute they serve as accessories in themselves. I'm someone who is drawn to pretty packaging and appreciate companies that cater to those like myself who not only want a good quality product, but also something we'd be proud to display. Above is a review of my beauty collection of kawaii (cute) products.

Red Season

Red Season

Is it just me or does red look great during the colder season? Whether it's worn to match the red leaves on the autumn trees, gothically to symbolize blood during halloween, or during the christmas holiday season, it's just a great color for a coat.

I adore the red peplum ted baker coat. I never got into the peplum style, but on that paticular coat it lools incredibly chic.

Black and red always compliment each other, which is why each coat is paired with a black bag. But instead of shoes, I went with some perfume in dark beautifully designed bottles. Some perfume bottles make wonderful accessories. Though I can't give a review on any of the scents above.

Enjoy Weekends: Weekend at the library

Weekend at the library

The library used to be a rather stylish place to hang out. You'd see men and women dessed in their classy casuals while they took in a good read. My mom used to say "if you're single, dress up and go to the library, you'll meet someone." This piece of advice would be lovely if my local library wasn't filled with frazzled students crying over their late assignments or homeless people looking for a warm place to hide from the fall chill.

I wish I lived in a time when one could put on a cute outfit and go to the library. I've seen old vintage movies where even the frazzled students were stylishly stressed.

This set is a tribute to all those out there who still treat their local libraries as a fashion spot.

Tricks and Treats Trenches

Trick and Treats Trenches

Last time, I talked about orange trenchcoats as I look at Halloween color schemes. This time, black trenches are paired with orange accessories for a different take on the black and orange combo. The more I see orange, the more I want it in my life.

The Lyla suede style wedge for example is very chic, even in orange. All the coats were paired with wedges, which came as a bit of a surprise to me since I don't care too much for wedge heels. But for some reason, orange looks great on a wedge; particularly the Pierre Hardy pony hair wedge. The contrasting grey and orange makes a bold yet fashionable statement.

I won't say orange is my favorite color, but I'll be wearing more often from here on in.

Orange Trench Coats

orange trench coats

Before creating this set, I didn't think I'd ever actually want an orange trench coat. Orange is one of those colors that looks beautiful in nature, but can be a huge miss when it comes to garmets and accessories. Therefore, while I love it as an representive of autumn's rainbow, I don't usually like it on me or others. However, after seeing the coats featured above, I'm warming up to orange as a legit fashion color. I tend to go more for the darker oranges than the bright pumpkin patch colors, but orange in and of itself is a lovely color. This set was, of course, inspired by the coming of Halloween. Black and orange is such a stylish combo and I thought that pairing each coat with black accessories would be a fun way to present the Halloween theme.

Enjoy Weekends: Breakfast at Audrey's

It's Friday morning and I'm unglamorously sipping hot cinnamon tea in my sweats while I swoon over Audrey Hepburn as Holly Goligtly in Breakfast at Tiffany's for the 678th time (it's probably more than that.) I'd rather be sipping champagne at Audrey's in one of the cocktail scenes. Little black dresses and vintage coats graze across the screen and before the movie ends I'm on polyvore looking for items that I can further swoon over.
Breakfast at Audrey's

The set started with the leather round bag, an item I've always wanted. More designers should make round bags...in my price range. Next I'm captivated by the dress, which is so Audrey that I wouldn't be surprised if she inspired it. Finally, my eyes feasted on the beautiful vintage coat. By the time the set is done, I'm half weeping because everything is so beautiful and miserably out of my budget. Still, it compels me to get back to my movie and appreciate the fine beauty vintage pieces often offer. If Audrey was around, I'd hope she'd invite me over to her place one weekend to gab about fashion and raid her wardrobe. Have a wonderful weekend!
