Mad for These Hats

If there's one accessory I definitely want this spring, it a new hat. Not a silly ball cap or even a knitted beret, but a real fashion hat, something fit enough to wear to a crazy tea party or at least to strut around in. Below are a few hats that I think even the mad hatter himself would approve of.

Tea Party Mini Top Hat

This mini tea party top hat is the perfect accessory for an Alice theme party. I like that it is small. It's says "I'm fun and stylish" without being overbearing and obnoxious.

Betty Grable

When I saw this hat I thought, where could I wear this to? Then I thought, does it matter, I'd be the cutest thing there. This hat is definitely  a scene stealer. It's beautifully hand crafted, with several bias ruffles and a large bow at the back.

FannyMae

This hat is so demure. I love the color and the flower. It's a hat every sophisticated woman should have in her collection.

Satine - Mini Top Hat - Fascinator

Mini top hats are very much in right now, and this one is one I want to seen in. The Victorian pattern suit this style well, but the unpretentious size make it wearable for even non glamor occasions.

Nonsense Hair Bow

Maybe you're not a hat person, maybe a giant bow is more befitting of your taste. If so, you're not alone, since big bows are a spring favorite. This black and white one is too cute.

In The Trenches Store: Alice in Wonderland Collection

A couple week ago, I added some fun Alice in wonderland items to the In The Trenches Store

Here are some of my favorites

OPI Disney's Alice in Wonderland 2010 Collection Mini Nail Lacquer Pack  O.P.I's Alice in Wonderland collection is a glitter fanatics dream come true. I wouldn't say I'm all about glitter, but I love this collection. Absolutely Alice and Mad as a Hatter make great top coats adding fun sparkles to any base coat. I used Lincoln Park after Dark and it looked stunning, especially in the evening. The reds are, well, red but they look great none the less. If you don't want the set, I also offer the individual colors, but they are selling out quickly.

This hand made bracelet features Alice in Wonderland characters including Alice holding the pig-baby, White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, Queen of Hearts and Mad Hatter in classic style.

Alice with Caterpillar Pendant with Necklace

This handmade pedant is an excellent way to add some color and fun to your outfit. It measures from the outside edges, 1 ¼ x 1 11/16 or 32mm x 40mm.

Colored Alice in Wonderland Flat Pocket Mirror

I love this pocket mirror. It features poor Alice being attacked by the queen's cards. The vintage look gives it a collectible appeal.

Please check out the store to browse more Alice in Wonderland items. They're already selling out quickly, so I apologize in advance if the item is not available.

Getting ready for a fashion and beauty wonderland

I’ve been pumped for Tim Burton’s version of Alice in Wonderland since last year. Not so much for the movie, but for the fabulous excuse I have to start a trend. Alice in Wonderland has always been my favorite story (I swear those Disney princesses go way too much attention), so when I heard there would be yet another remake I went crazy. Knowing I’d now be able to drag out all my Alice and Mad Hatter gear, without looking like a total goofball with a giant bow in my hair. I have a sneaking suspicion that Hollywood actresses and designers are going to give us a wonderland of fashion ideas that we’ll all be jumping down a rabbit hole to get.

To kick off the movie, I’m doing a series of posts on the many wonderland inspired accessories available for fans like me.

Get ready for some hats worth going mad for, charming Alice bracelet, and heart shaped items fit for any queen.

In case you can't read it the quote in the pic, it says "Oh, Kitty, how nice it would be if we could get through into Looking Glass House! I'm sure it' got such beautiful things in it."

Buttercup giftset from lush haul/review video

When I’m not scouring for trench coats and accessories, I’m stuffing my bag with Lush goodies. When they had their party this month, I was there with all my senses alert—well maybe not taste, though lush does have a lick-able massage bar, but that’s in another video.

This video focuses on the buttercup gift set. I’m a sucker for lush gift sets, and this one is one of my favorites.  Watch the video to see why this gift set is so sweet.

These boots were made for walking

I managed to catch my sister before she headed out last week, and snapped a few pics of her outfit. I love this look. The high boots, which remind me of riding boots are the combination of comfort and class. I also love the vintage over sized plaid cardigan she's wearing. Both are from the thrift store. The blue cardigan on the inside is from American Apparel, but she found it at winners. She's also wearing Absolutely Alice nail polish from O.P.I which really brings out the blue in the jacket. And the headband, from Arden adds a feminine girly touch to the outfit.

I love featuring people's fashion. If you want your outfit featured please send me a pic ^_^

Burberry COTTON GABARDINE KNOTTED EPAULETTE TRENCH COAT

This is another favorite from Burberry. I absolutely adore the sleeves on this trench coat, not to mention the sweet baby pink color. It's just so stylish. If it wasn't for the price, I'd quickly order it so I could strut up and down the city streets in my own private fashion show.

The picture doesn't do it justice, so please click the title to be taken to the website for a better look.

Fresh Farmacy Cleanser Pros and Cons

I’ve been using Fresh Farmacy cleanser (also known as fresh farmacy face soap) for a little over a week, and here is a review detailing some of the pros and cons I found with it.

Pros

1. Very gentle. Fresh Farmacy claims to b very gentle and it lives up to this. The soap is gentle on the skin and eyes. After putting a little underneath my eyes and not feeling a sting, I knew it wouldn’t bother my skin by causing inflammation, redness and other symptoms of irritation. It also has a host of gentle ingredients such as calamine powder, chamomile oil, and elder flower.

2. Removes excess oil. The oily patches I have on my cheeks seemed to disappear. Fresh farmacy seemed to suck out the excess oil.

3. Reduces acne and blemishes. After just 3 days of using the cleanser I noticed a great improvement in the overall look and feel of my skin. It felt smoother, the blemishes were less noticeable and my skin complexion was more even.

Cons

1. Drying: Unless you have problem with oily skin, you may want to use this in moderation because it can leave your skin feeling dry.

2. It doesn’t smell great: The smell of fresh farmacy is that of calamine powder. This isn’t a bad smell, but it isn’t great either.

3. A little messy. I like that this cleanser lathers; however, because it is so creamy it can get messy. I would keep in a separate dish away from your other soaps and cleansers.

All in all, I liked this fresh farmacy cleanser. It worked to sooth my skin and was very gentle. I give it 4/5.

Marc Jacobs short trench coat

Even though this coat  is no longer available, I had to blog about it because I simply love it. The color was what first caught my attention. It's a classic without a doubt, but the scaled down proportions of it make it modern and sexy.

*Sliding fastening belt
*Large lapels
*Press stud fastenings
*Tabs on the three-quarter-length sleeves
*Folded pleat at the back
*100% nylon bonded with 100% cotton
